“Wholeness is not achieved by cutting off a portion of one’s being but by the integration of the contraries”
Jung

“We have a fear of facing ourselves. That is the obstacle. Experiencing the innermost core of our existence is very embarrassing to a lot of people. A lot of people turn to something that they hope will liberate them without their having to face themselves. That is impossible. We have to be honest with ourselves. We have to see our gut, our excrement, our most undesirable parts. We have to see them. That is the foundation of warriorship and the basis of conquering fear. Whatever is there, we have to face it, we have to look at it, study it, work with it, and practice meditation with it.”— Chögyam Trungpa, Smile at Fear

I used to have the domain astraldouble.com for hackr.tumblr.com (“astral double” is a theosophical term), but some time ago I let the domain registration fee lapse and it got snatched up so I registered the domain name astraldeath.com

"I warn you, whoever you are, Oh, you who wish to probe the arcanes of nature, if you do not find within yourself that which you seek, neither shall you be able to find it outside. If you ignore the excellencies of your own house, how do you intend to find other excellencies? In you is hidden the treasure of treasures. Oh, man, know thyself and you shall know the Universe and its Gods!"- Inscribed on the Temple at Delphi (via thatwhichdoesnotsuffer)

"Rather than climbing up a ladder seeking perfection, we are unfolding into wholeness. We are not trying to transcend or vanquish the difficult energies that we consider wrong—the fear, shame, jealousy, anger. This only creates a shadow that fuels our sense of deficiency. Rather, we are learning to turn around and embrace life in all its realness—broken, messy, vivid, alive."- Carl Jung (via the-red-lotus-blog)
"The mass state has no intention of promoting mutual understanding and the relationship of man to man; it strives, rather, for atomization, for the psychic isolation of the individual. The more unrelated individuals are, the more consolidated the State becomes, and vice versa."- Carl Jung, The Undiscovered Self
(via hijodelagua)
"The only real “you’ is the one that comes and goes, manifests and withdraws itself eternally in and as every conscious being. For “you” is the universe looking at itself from billions of points of view, points that come and go so that the vision is forever new. What we see as death, empty space, or nothingness is only the trough between the crests of this endlessly waving ocean. It is all part of the illusion that there should seem to be something to be gained in the future, and that there is an urgent necessity to go on and on until we get it. Yet just as there is no time but the present, and no one except the all-and-everything, there is never anything to be gained—through the zest of the game is to pretend there is."- The Book On the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are - Alan Watts
"Millions of people never analyze themselves. Mentally they are mechanical products of the factory of their environment, preoccupied with breakfast, lunch, and dinner, working and sleeping, and going here and there to be entertained. They don’t know what or why they are seeking, nor why they never realize complete happiness and lasting satisfaction. By evading self-analysis, people go on being robots, conditioned by their environment. True self-analysis is the greatest art of progress."- Paramahansa Yogananda (via spiritsprinkles)
